Namaste - Paper Mache Heart

Hi everybody!  I'm back with another paper mache heart.  I've actually had this one here partially done for months.  So I decided that it was time to finish her up.  She is done in the same colors of my last two pieces for the same reason, to finish up the paint I had out.

I'm calling this one Namaste because of the mandala inspired background.

I was really inspired by the beautiful mandala designs all over Pinterest so I just started doodling.  I also did a little stamping to help fill the background.

I did all of the doodling freehand using a Faber-Castell Pitt Pen and then painted them in and highlighted using a white Sign pen.

I chose not to prime my flowers so the colors are muted by the dark background.

I think that keeping the color toned down really helps her stay the focal image even though there is a lot going on in the background.

She was drawn a long time ago so instead of starting all over, I decided to just go with it and paint her in.

Even the back got a coat of paint ;D

When I look at her "Namaste" instantly comes to mind but I decided not to write it on there.  What do you think, should I add some words or leave it the way it is?  Let me know your thoughts!!

Thank you for stopping by & have a beautiful, peaceful day!!

Friends

Hey there sweet bloggie friends!!  I hope you are all doing fantastic :D  I've been busy trying to get ready for upcoming shows.  So today I wanna share a new mini tabletop canvas that I completed last week.  This is a tiny 3x3 canvas in a tabletop frame.

This design was completely driven by the large canvas I was working on.  I used the leftover paints from "Amelita".

The blue is from her dress and the red from her lips.

I used a rubon from my stash for the flourishes, birds and sentiment.  The white dots were done with my favorite Signo pen.  I highly recommend this pen!!  You can buy it here: PWP.

I did an outdoor market on Saturday, here's a look at my set up :D  Well friends I'll let you get on with your day, thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hugs, have a beautiful day!!

Amelita

Happy Monday everyone!!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  We had a wonderful trip to Houston for the Anime Matsuri Convention.  It was our first one and it was very interesting, lol.  We also caught up with family so it was a blast.  Okay, I am ecstatic to share my latest canvas with you.   So without out further ado, let me introduce you to Amelita:

I love all my lovely ladies but I just think Amelita is breathtaking.  I'm so pleased with the way she turned out.  This is a large canvas measuring 18x24 and is 1.5" deep.

Many of you joined me on Facebook as Amelita came to life and I'm so grateful for all of your encouragement.

She is done in heavy body, soft body and fluid acrylics.

The background is also done in acrylics and then overlaid with spray ink using a stencil.

Here's a better look at he background.  The sun is really shining today so I was picking up a lot of glare in my photos.

I hope you love Amelita as much as I do!!  Thanks so much for joining me today, have a beautiful and blessed day!!

Hugs to you all :D

Let Your Spirit Soar

Happy Friday Everyone!!  It's Spring Break here and we've enjoying fun filled days along with much needed lazy days.   Boy the week really flies by doesn't it?!  Okay so I wanted to pop in really quickly and share a custom piece that I created for a friend.  If you follow me on Facebook then you saw this one coming together.

Isn't she beautiful...this is my friend's daughter.  This is the first portrait piece I've done and it was a bit nervous at first but I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

This is the first one I've done with teeth too :D

I started out on a tin heart but it really wasn't working for me so I had to switch to a wooden heart.

I added texture using molding paste and stencils.

If you're interested in commissioning a piece like this, please email me or PM me on Facebook.

Thank you so much for joining me today, HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

Hi everyone!!  I'm so glad you've joined us today for our celebration.  This anniversary is extra special for me because it also marks the launch of Little Honey Bee Studios.  I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Carrie and her wonderful stamps at that time.  Today I'm blessed to call her my friend and grateful to witness the growth of her business.  Now you've probably  notice the those awesome stamps up above right.  I'm GIVING them away to one lucky follower along with a Little Honey Bee Studios something, something.  I'll announce the winner here on Tuesday, March 11th and all you have to do to be eligible is comment.  Okay, time for my project!!

I'm ready to "CELEBRATE" Easter!!  I altered this cute little chipboard bunny to display during the Easter season.

I used the 6x6 Prima Delight Paper Pad and just outlined my bunny.  I cut it out and glued it on, easy peasy.

Here he is all ready for stamping!

I used the Happy Day and Frida Por Vida clear stamp sets.  I stamped the flowers and streamers directly onto the bunny then colored them with my Prismas.  I added pearl beads to the centers of each flower.  Happy and the little bird are both stamped on the Prima paper then fussy cut.  I added shadows with Prismas and sparkle with Stickles.  The ribbons, flowers and bling are all from my stash.

Alright, it's time to send you off to your next stop so head on over to Amber's Blog!!
